Dear all TMC athletes,

We are devising a seeding process to make the start area more enjoyable this year. The racing snakes will go off first. This will comprise of the faster male and female runners as well as the speedy teams.
We have done all we can to determine who will be in these leading groups, but we would like to invite anyone who is racing for a position on the day to let us know via email, info@trailrunning.co.za. We will determine the validity of your quality. This information must be sent to us before 12:00 on Friday the 3rd of September. After this date the database will be sealed and no further changes will be made.
To everyone, we hope your training has been plentiful and enjoyable.

Registration takes place at Cape Storm in Wynberg on Wednesday the 15th of September from 13:00 til 19:00.

I have been on the waiting list since and even knowing Trevor, the event organiser, has not helped me in my quest for a Solo Entry Ticket!

Today, however, Christopher Hitchcock, has decided to donate his ticket to me (he reckons he’s not trained enough). I’m delighted. Delighted and under-trained.

Last year, I entered the race in a 3 ‘man’ team with Louis and his Fiancé. It got me hooked onto trail running and I’ve been totting the mountains since.

This is going to be one hell of a challenge, but a great warmup to the Puffer 2011 (something I’d also LOVE to do).

These age-old landmarks had fallen into disrepair over the years and the decision to collapse them was made months ago. The explosions that saw to their final sunrise, took place 3mins too early but none-the-less, we have it on video here for you to marvel at, again and again and again..

Spread the word and in doing so, the awareness..

It is believed that this needless loss was a result of local Power Shedding in the Western Cape.

After a lot of market research, I have settled on Google Apps Preimer Edition. For a couple of bucks a year (R60ish per month to be exact) I have a polished 25gig email account – 10 year archiving and loads of other products and features across the Google Platform!

So far I am very happy with the product. Watch this space though.. I am sure that something will rear it’s ugly head – leading to a little bit of banter.

United States police officers pulled a man over for not stopping at a stop sign when they found four-year-old Navarro “marinating” and distinctly unhappy.

Gary Korkuc (51) allegedly told the cops that he was planning to cook his cat as it was “ill-tempered”. The Buffalo, New York state officers were also told that the neutered male cat was “pregnant”, the Buffalo News reported.

Navarro has since been taken in by animal rescue workers who want to have him adopted by a caring member of the public now that he has been cleaned up.

Korkuc has been charged with animal cruelty.

“It’s disgusting. It surprises me every day what people are capable of when it comes to violence, whether it is animals or people. I’ve never heard of anything like this before,” said Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals spokesperson Gina Browning.

“We can learn lessons in resiliency. He is purring away and getting ready for his next checkup. Thank God that police heard him. Thank God those cops took the initiative.”
